Day 1: Arrival in Vigo

You can arrive in Vigo on your own or let us handle the transfer from any airport in Galicia. Vigo is well-connected by the high-speed AVE train, providing easy access to the city center. Spend some time exploring the city center, the picturesque Berbés neighborhood, the A Pedra market, Plaza de Compostela, and the lively Príncipe Street. Enjoy the vibrant local atmosphere and get ready for your unforgettable experience on the Portuguese Coastal Way of the Camino de Santiago.

Day 2: From Vigo to Cesantes – 18 km / 4-5 hours

Your journey starts from Vigo center and takes you through the O Berbés neighborhood in Vigo, renowned for its oysters. Continue on to Redondela, where the Portuguese Coastal Way merges with the Inland Portuguese Way, and then ascend to Cesantes.

Stages from Vigo

Day 3: From Cesantes to Pontevedra – 16 km / 3-4 hours

Starting from Cesantes, the path descends towards Arcade, crossing the medieval Ponte Sampaio bridge. You will continue your journey to Pontevedra, known as the "boa Vila".

Day 4: From Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis – 21 km / 4-5 hours

Departing from Pontevedra, you will head towards Caldas de Reis, passing through lush forest landscapes and the stunning Barosa River Waterfall. Caldas de Reis is famed for its therapeutic thermal springs.

Day 5: From Caldas de Reis to Padrón – 17 km / 4-5 hours

Leaving Caldas de Reis, you will immerse yourself in nature, crossing Monte Castelo and the Valga River to reach Padrón. This town is the birthplace of notable Galician literary figures and, according to legend, the landing place of the Apostle Santiago's remains.

Day 6: From Padrón to Santiago de Compostela – 26 km / 5-6 hours

Your journey concludes in Santiago de Compostela, where you will enter this historic city through A Porta Faxeira and arrive at the famous Plaza del Obradoiro, marking the end of the Portuguese Coastal Way.

Day 7: End of Your Journey

Explore Santiago de Compostela at your leisure, with the option to extend your stay to enjoy more of the city. We offer you the opportunity to stay an additional night to explore the highlights of Santiago and its surroundings.
